With experience, trainers learn to incorporate a variety of learning approaches and activities into the training room (both face-to-face and virtual). Discover which learning techniques work best for your audience in formal or work-based learning contexts. See how you can reduce the blind spots that result from a mis-match in your preferred way of delivering training and the learning styles of your training group.

In this one-day workshop, we will provide the answers to the following questions:

  • How might your personal type preferences help or hinder the learning potential of participants in your training programmes?
  • How do you adjust your training delivery style and support for everyone, in all learning environments, even if delivery is on-line and the classrooms are virtual?
  • As trainers, how do we make sure that our own type preferences don’t restrict our ability to support the learning needs of our trainees?
  • How do we design learning interventions that ensure effective learning for everyone?
  • How do we ensure that the training we deliver is then applied back in the workplace?

Before the workshop, you will complete Academy28's unique Your Preferences online test that will diagnose your own personality preferences. You'll instantly receive a personalised Your Type World report which will introduce you to your own personal behavioural preferences, together with a separate report that explains how you like to learn.

At the workshop, you will receive a report that provides you with an insight into your preferences for delivering training and the things that you should consider when taking the preferences of others into account. Working with the other participants, you will use the data from this third report to learn what you need to do to flex your training delivery preferences for groups of different personality types.

During the workshop, through interactive exercises, reflection, discussion and case studies, you will examine and explore:

  • the impact of energy and the environment within the training room
  • the different ways that individual learners need the training content to be explained and presented to them
  • how to manage the differences in focus between the people and the business
  • keeping on track, while going with the flow
  • avoiding trouble and conflict in the training room

This workshop is suitable for more experienced trainers looking to extend their knowledge and facilitation skills to include a knowledge of the importance of behavioural preferences within the training room. No previous experience of behavioural type is required, as the Your Preferences tool and resulting reports introduce the subject using a new everyday vocabulary. Those with some prior knowledge, e.g. MBTI-certified, will find news ways to express their ideas to a wider audience than before.

The individual enrolment fee is £475 plus VAT per person. Two or three people from the same organisation can enrol for a fee of £850 and £1,150, respectively.

The cost includes lunch and refreshments, a workshop delegate pack and the three Your Preferences for Training reports.

A certificate of attendance will be provided to all those who attend for use, as required, as part of any ongoing continuous professional development.

The fee also includes three months membership of Academy28's online Your Preferences User Community.
